Industrial Sector:
To reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and boost the competitiveness of the industrial sector while contributing to the fight against climate change, Tunisia is working on implementing initiatives and strategies in this sector, thereby reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, such as:
🔹 Promotion of Cogeneration: Cogeneration, which involves the simultaneous production of electricity and heat from a single energy source, is encouraged in Tunisia. This approach optimizes the use of energy resources and reduces losses associated with separate production of electricity and heat.
🔹 Implementation of Energy Efficiency Programs: The Tunisian government is setting up programs and incentives to encourage industrial companies to improve their energy efficiency. This may include subsidies for purchasing energy-efficient equipment, tax incentives, or preferential rates for electricity generated from renewable sources.
🔹 Technical Support and Assistance: Consulting and technical assistance services are often provided to businesses to help them identify opportunities for improving their energy efficiency. This may include energy audits, feasibility studies, and personalized recommendations.
🔹 Awareness and Training: Awareness campaigns and training programs are organized to inform companies about the benefits of energy efficiency and best practices to adopt. This can help change mindsets and encourage the adoption of more energy-saving behaviors and technologies.
